Prices in US$. Pick a plan; everything you use comes out of it, and nothing is charged beyond the price shown.

In short

There is no free tier: every post read from X, every deletion and every AI check costs money, so each is paid for out of your plan, and work pauses at the plan's limit instead of charging you more. Plans cost $4.99 to $29.99 a month, or $49.99 to $299.99 a year, and the one-time Clean-up Passes cost $49 and $149. When a plan's usage runs out, work pauses where it is and carries on after you upgrade or renew; no post is read or paid for twice.

Yearly plans cost about two months less than paying monthly and give the same usage every month, a month at a time. Upgrading pays the price difference, adds the new usage at once and renews at the new price; smaller plans and cancelling take effect at your next renewal.

What uses your plan

X bills apps for every request (X API pricing, checked October 23, 2026), and every AI check costs money too. These come out of your plan:

  • Reading a post from X: about half a cent
  • Deleting a post: about half a cent
  • Removing a like or undoing a repost: about one cent
  • An AI check of a post: about a tenth of a cent
  • Uploading your X archive instead of reading from X: no read fee

PrunePosts remembers which posts it has read and which the AI has checked. Loading again, upgrading or renewing only reads what is new or older than what you have, and a post is not checked again unless X's rules or the AI model change.

How long deleting takes

X allows 50 post deletions per account every 15 minutes, so big clean-ups take time whatever you pay: 500 deletes take at least 2.5 hours, 3,500 about 17.5 hours, 10,000 about two days and 25,000 about five days.

X allows 50 post deletions per account every 15 minutes (X API rate limits, checked October 22, 2026). Every tool that deletes through X's official API shares this limit.

How this compares

Most tweet deleters sell monthly or yearly subscriptions; a few, such as DeleteOldPosts, sell credit packs. PrunePosts sells subscriptions and one-time passes with the usage stated up front. Some tools are cheaper for plain bulk deletion, and the comparison page says which, with sources.

Questions

Is there a free plan?

No. Every post read from X, every deletion and every AI check costs money, so each is paid for out of a plan. Uploading your X archive costs nothing, but checking and deleting posts needs a plan.

What happens when my plan's usage runs out?

Work pauses where it stopped and says which plan would carry on now. Upgrade and it continues from the same place; a subscription also continues when the next month's usage arrives. Posts already read or checked are never read or paid for again.

What does my plan pay for?

Reading a post from X, deleting a post, removing a like or undoing a repost, and each AI check. A post costs about half a cent to read or delete and about a tenth of a cent to check.

Do one-time passes renew?

No. A Clean-up Pass is paid once, gives 30 days of usage and never renews. Subscriptions renew until you cancel, and they say so.

Can I get a refund?

Yes, for unused usage within 14 days of paying. Deletions on X can't be undone, so used usage can't be refunded.

Why not an unlimited plan?

X charges apps for every post they read and every delete request, so an unlimited plan has to be paid for by someone. Plans with stated usage mean you pay for what you use, and nobody pays for someone else's 50,000-post wipe.

How long will my deletes take?

X allows 50 post deletions per account every 15 minutes. 500 deletes take at least 2.5 hours; 10,000 take at least two days.
